Through my work as a music therapist, I have the opportunity to work with so many incredible individuals and families. This song was inspired by my work with an individual with dementia. He and his wife had spent their life together loving classic country music and dancing together. The old country songs they had loved throughout their life brought them closeness even when his memory was fading. Music truly accompanies us through each stage of life's journey. I loved the idea of a dance and a song bringing a couple together throughout their long life together. Even when the challenges of life (busyness, children, loss, illness) create the feelings of loneliness or distance, the love shared is always there for this couple when they meet on the dance floor.
